1st AIR BASE GROUP

PUERTO RICO STATE GUARD COMMAND

The 1st Air Base Group of the Puerto Rico State Guard comprises the Headquarters Detachment, Mission Support Squadron, and the Medical Squadron. Situated at Muñiz Air National Guard Base, the 1st Air Base Group stands as a noteworthy illustration of integration and teamwork with PRANG units, particularly the 156th Airlift Wing. Presently, the 1ABG provides support to the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (Task Force Metro) and the Civil Authority during times of emergency.

701st MISSION SUPPORT SQUADRON

The Mission Support Squadron comprises four flights and four special teams, located at Muñiz Air National Guard Base, Carolina, Puerto Rico:

• Logistic Flight

• Sustainment Flight

• Security Forces Flight

• Civil Engineering Flight

• Aerial Port Team

• Fire Fighter Team

• Food Service Team

• Communications Team

702nd MEDICAL SUPPORT SQUADRON

The Medical Support Squadron comprises healthcare providers who lend their assistance to the Puerto Rico National Guard and Department of Health in the event of natural disasters or declarations of public health emergencies. Among the health professionals constituting the Medical Support Squadron are Physicians, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Technicians, Pharmacist Technicians, Paramedics (EMTs), Psychologists, Epidemiologists, and other Healthcare Providers. The primary missions of the Medical Support Squadron are as follows:

• To execute Mobil Medical Operations (Shelters).
• Hospital Emergency Response Teams (HERT).
• To provide training for Search and Extraction teams.
• To ensure the medical readiness of the airman's.
