La Seguridad de Operaciones, por sus siglas en ingles (OPSEC), impide que potenciales enemigos descubran información necesaria para mantener seguros a nuestros soldados y aviadores y mantener nuestras misiones en secreto. Esta información incluye, entre otras, operaciones planificadas, operaciones en curso y operaciones completadas. En este proceso identificamos la información crítica para determinar si las acciones amigas pueden ser observadas por la inteligencia enemiga, determinamos si la información obtenida por los adversarios podría interpretarse como útil para ellos y luego ejecutamos medidas seleccionadas que eliminan o reducen la explotación por parte del adversario de información crítica amiga. Operations Security, or OPSEC, is keeping potential enemies from dis- covering information needed to keep our Soldiers and Airman's safe and our missions secret. This information includes, but is not lim- ited to, planned operations, operations in progress, and operations completed. On this process we identifies the critical information to determine if friendly actions can be observed by enemy intelligence, determines if information obtained by adversaries could be interpreted to be useful to them, and then executes selected measures that eliminate or reduce adversary exploitation of friendly critical information.
